Do-LowHrzHurts
because crazy boxes on youtube are always better...... LOL As others have said, 6th orders are a lot of work, there is no simple design that will get your max desired results (frequency range, or spl). Ive had my 6th order playing for about 8 months now, and Im still screwing with the port sizes and length trying to find the best. It sounds good currently, but I think I could be just as loud if not louder with a flat wall at this point. Some of the best bandpass enclosures doing big numbers and have a flat response are done by Scott Bowman (jeefworks), robin butler (BHE), and Mike Singer. If I would have anyone do a design for me, it be one of them guys. Sorry for making a valid contribution for OP's consideration. Why is everyone so testy on this sight now? As far as Hexi's youtube boxes...I'm sorry but those boxes are tuned enclosures which perform well and are properly designed for their application. audiofanaticz
any person that threatens to sue his customers for sharing their designs that they paid for with their own money is an ass hat.
Do-LowHrzHurts
You make a valid point sir. I was not aware of this suit stuff you speak of. Can you now clarify the stipulations of Hexi's contract with the buyers of his product. Please educate me to your ass hat conclusion. He may very well have terms and conditions for the purchase and replication clause to hold up in a legal battle. He is basically branding a product and has all the right in the world to ask for his designs to not be copied. Do-LowHrzHurts
If I designed homes and a person walks into my establishment and requests plans.. I sell them plans to build 1 house for them selves. Not to go using those plans to build others and profit. Exclusive right to sell and no redistribute. Just about every designer has something to this affect. Like people who buy rights to use a designers web template. Its licensed for one use and not for re distribution. Break the rule and Poof, LAW SUIT! audiofanaticz
He has no clause. I have dealt with him years ago when recommended by DD to him due to a woofer problem, which the problem was still there. Turned out to be 1 woofer used the 7.25 inch landing and 8 spiders, while the other woofer used the 8inch landing and 6 spiders. There are several other members here as well that got rather poor results with his enclosure as well. Like his wall design for 2 Team Fi 15s that his design put each woofer in a 2.2 cubic foot box, each woofer was powered with a DC Audio 5.0k, and the car couldn't break a 150db, and had a very peaky response with a high tune. Any ways comparing a house design to a speaker box design is apple to oranges.Your talking about a contracting firm with architects and jobs that cost 10s of thousands of dollars for a blue print, not a $30-50 design.
