battery duty cycles

Recommended Posts

If a battery is rated for 800 cycles.
How is that measured? A lot a setups will take a battery way down during a demo. So do you lose cycles during the demo?

The cycle life is how many times it can be charged and discharged before it's performance starts to degrade usually the cycle life means at that point it can only achieve 80% of the performance it had when new.

There are shallow discharges Meaning you discharged to it say 60%

And deep discharges meaning you discharged it almost completely.

If you start at 100% then discharge completely then charge back to 100% that is one cycle.

If you start at 100% then discharge to 50% then charge back up 100% and discharge again to 50% then charge back up to 100% that would be one cycle as well.

Either way it doesn't mean the battery just stops working when it hits it's cycle life, it just won't have the same capacity as it used to.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

Typed that out kind of fast so sorry for the bad grammar.

Edit- couldn't leave it like that.
