Reely Neme
Port is braced long ways and across with 1 3/4" screws on each side, with wood glue on each part. I'm not really good with putting it into words, but I would say it's comparable to a drum roll that is sort of clicky/chirpy.
Broke_Audio_Addict
Does it still make the noise if you pull it out and free air it? Some pics still would help Edited March 31, 2015 by Broke_Audio_Addict Quote That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Reely Neme
I got home and listened to it, the sound I would have to compare it to is like a nut shaking on something steel, so steel on steel vibrating. Free air will probably have to wait until tomorrow, and it's dark here with no good light source so terrible pictures, the enclosure is basically limiting me from taking it out inside the car, and the enclosure is a tight fit. The only picture I have right now: https://onedrive.live.com/?cid=e191037107272722&id=E191037107272722%21152&sff=1&v=3 sub is in same side as port My uncle who was heavy into car audio for about 10 years is saying it sounds like the coil, so it's sounding like it's a faulty woofer that needs sent back while I still can. Krakin
Just sounds like unlinearity in the motion of the moving masses causing the coil to slap the sides of the gap. I suggest finding a sweep from roughly 20Hz-80Hz and see if it goes away with higher frequencies. Quote Krakin's Home Dipole Project http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186153-krakins-dipole-project-new-reciever-in-rockford-science/#entry2772370 Krakin, are you some sort of mad scientist? I would have replied earlier, but I was measuring the output of my amp with a yardstick . . . What you hear is not the air pressure variation in itself but what has drawn your attention in the two streams of superimposed air pressure variations at your eardrums An acoustic event has dimensions of Time, Tone, Loudness and Space Everyone learns to render the 3-dimensional localization of sound based on the individual shape of their ears, thus no formula can achieve a definite effect for every listener. Broke_Audio_Addict
I'd just give sundown a call or whatever vendor you bought it from and I'm certain they will handle it for you.
