EricR Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 lol @ 3 alts in a civic hatch....thats sum custom shit right there. and x2 thats a big ass box in that car. id wall it off and put 4 15's in that bish. i was thinking leave the 12 sitting in the box in the hole and duck tape from the bottom of the sub to the bottom of the baffle so the sub doesnt free air. would that work?

Yeah just made a custom bracket and fabbed an idler pully from the timing belt on another engine. Found the right sized belt and it was all good.

Boon Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I really wouldn't have the amps on the box like that... I know it's triple-thickness but the vibration will be hell on it. Trust me, I have a big ass monoblock here that half the MOSFETs snapped off the board because the previous owner had it screwed to their box. Expensive and messy to fix. 10.x volts fo' life!

I think when I carpet everything I'll move them but really some of the bumps I drive over gotta be worse than the box... they're built to take alot of vibrations
fourlug Posted April 16, 2008 Author Report Posted April 16, 2008 So everything is hooked up and going now!!! I got the alts working (same ones that were in there) LOL the engine really boggs when the bass hits (the whole car slows down cause the alternators are trying to keep up). Also without the idle set above 2000rpm the car will just stall or the belt starts slipping like mad, so it would be pretty annoying for a daily driver... Anyway now the only problem is one sub ripped out of box cause the screws pulled out of the wood, so I gotta bolt it in or something. The threaded rod works really well on the back windows, but now the other half is coming loose cause their only bolted into plastic which the threads got torn out. I think I forgot to mention this box is tuned to 31 hz... maybe some vids soon.
