RooTxBeeR
Sounds good. I was going to run the wire under my h3 but decided to go through the firewall with it because the carpet had enough padding under it to hide the wires without bulging. Good deal, not every car can run fast wires through stock firewalls. We ran the power wire and ate starting the glueing of the front baffle so on a few hours we can mount the sub and ports. So tonight we can hand the box fully constructed. RooTxBeeR
So we finally finished for the night, at midnight. 13 hours straight today. Only stopped to eat. Power wire is ran, Box is fully constructed and set to finish over night. First thing in the morning we install the box. Then measure a base board for behind the box to put the batteries on. Once that board is cut and installed, the batteries can be permanently repositioned and then wire up all the batteries. The only thing really left to do, is lengthen a stock 8awg wire in the trunk. And length out, cut, and terminal the wires for the +/- inputs on the amps. As well as figure out where the fuse holders will go, and once that is found it. Cut the wire and add terminals to attach. Once that is done, all it needs it to be given POWA! I am absolutely tired as shit, I have around 35 photos uploading as this is typed. Once I wake up in the morning they will be posted and the finishing of the box and installation will be done. After that, and in the next few weeks the final parts to come include. Sealing off the trunk, carpeting front face of the box. RooTxBeeR
Got some pictures inbound! I want to post this one first. While I was working on everything yesterday. Two of my friend had stopped by and one of them asked if I could use my tools to cut him out a paddle. This is it immediately cut out. He actually sat there and sanded it all. Got the edges rounded over all over it, every surface is nice and soft. What could this be possibly used for??? Here was the first test fit to make sure sub went flush fully, and the ports had no clearance issues. While I was working on direct leads and other parts of the box, my buddy started working on running the power wire. We shouldn't have any issues. Right???? Lol this thing is as far back as it can be, no where in any suspension travel. Like how it peeks out though, says hi if you want to show it off. When I first test fitted the power wire a few weeks ago. My main concern was for the wire getting past the rear axle. His car sit's really low, and it's has some big gear on the back axle. I actually found that there is a nice 1" gap between the top of the chasis and the body, so we ran it over that to keep it away from everything all together. Here is it coming up from the skid plate. This shot is directly facing upward. My phone was flat on the ground to take this. Drops down right in front of the rear axle housing. And best part, right infront of a grommet! Test fitting out the bolts! Originally I thought we where going to not flush mount so I had him get 4" bolts. Then we switched to going flush mount on the sub, so it's excessive now. Like the look of it with the sleeve on, but it would not fit in the flush mount with that. We where already at the limits of the first board so we couldn't take anymore off. Here is where we ran the power wire through. RooTxBeeR
MOAR!!!! The way the subs and ports are, we had to install them into the front baffle first. Then install it as one piece. This is just a little picture piece showing how we had to install the ports. This picture wasn't them being put together permanently. First would put some glue on. Slide the port through the bottom and attach. Lookin fresh on the dry test fit What the final product will look like. Nice n snug peek a boo Then it was time to get it together! Who said you need screws? Clamps only on the main baffle. I also would like to add, I have no idea what the fuck this is, but it looks like my phone cropped another photo in the one below. Don't ask me how, but that bottom of the picture should all be the same looking grass, not what ever that is. Direct leads extended and ready to go the terminals Needed to sand this down so you don't see the crop circles once it's in the car. We won't carpet for a bit so want to somewhat presentable for the time being. The underside Nice and clean Then some bracing. RooTxBeeR
MOAR The sexayness is immense here. Looking clean. I do realize, if I ever want to reconfigure, I pretty much need to pull the box apart because of how the bolts are. Thing is, the sub is wired to 1ohm. This guy will probably never have the electrical to support anything lower. So I am sure until the day comes where we need more power, and would have to rewire. We would have new subs so a new box would be required anyways. Think it looks nice and clean nevertheless I wanted to make sure that the ONLY air to leave this box, is from the ports. Fat weather stripping for under the sub Can't forget your ports either. Holding the face plate up for the final installation and wiring the terminals up inside the box. Also, we siliconed the inside of the box, the edges around the ports. So literally, no leaks, absolutely anywhere. This is where we stopped last night. Box is dried now. My buddy just pulled up so we will get to working very shortly and have it playing today.
