Question about Aero Ports

so i guess if the tune is not that much of a difference then i guess in the future when i get the sub and stuff...then maybe ill try this.

2010 Chevrolet Cruze

Radio --- pioneer mvh-200vbt

Front/back --- alpine type s 6.5"

Sub Control --- Pac LC1

Sub Amp --- GZPA 1.4K

Sub --- GZNW 15XSPL D1

Battery - GZBP 12.2500X

I just want to point out. That picture doesn't seem like that port has the ports width in clearance front the front of the port opening to the back wall of that box. Just saying. I am in for info on external porting though.

Looks like internal port is too close to the bottom & side of enclosure. Back of box clearance looks really close too, hard to tell. I think its half the port dia for distance clearance. Or full dia distance. Cant remember.

External might preform better.

i know what you mean..the port is tuned to 40hz, and there is quite some space from the aero to the back of the box.

if that doesnt work then i will port on the outside..and try something different, thats its also why i asked about porting outside the box

I just wanted to point that out. Because if you are trying out other style ports and configs because you don't like how it sounds. That might be a factor into that. I'm pretty sure you need the ports whole width as a minimum distance. Only time I ever see less is if you take 1 slot port and divide it into separate individual chambers.
