with the same sub, more than likely. But that is a relatively easy thing to do.

with a different sub it just depends.

yea, i can easily reduce interior size while still keeping the same box shape.. iv already got some window bracing cut but no actual windows in em.. ill just keep em whole and place inside for desired volume..

so do u think 1 10in sub with 29mm of xmax and 4000 watts will still be pretty loud??

With two 4" ports:

40 hz = 22"

35 hz = 36"

32 hz = not even possible really, the port takes up too much internal volume and you would never fit it in there..

If you want to run sealed, which is probably not a bad idea at all, you might not even need to shrink the box down any.

The amp you friend has doesn't put out any 4000 watts, more like 1400, maybe.

thanks man.. i just talked to the guy.. he said sealed sounds fine as long as it still hits.. and i kno it dont put out that.. lol.. he said hes upgrading to a big boy amp soon so thats what i was talking about.. lol

I think sealed may be the best option for you then. If your friend is going to upgrade his amp you will need to shrink the box down or you will probably run into cone excursion problems. Fortunately, shrinking down internal volume is pretty easy to do.

Ok.. so what intrenal volume do u recommend.the manual for the sub has a sealed box volume of .7.. is that ok or too small??

Last questions.. do slot ports have to be symmetrical all the way???

And can a port be hidden from sight? I say this cuz I may make a port on the side firing into the area behind the plastic panels in trunk???

Depends what you mean by symmetrical, they have to have an even cross sectional area, other than that you can do a lot of different things with them.

I would suggest you use the factory recommended .7 cu ft for a sealed box.

Sorry for not saying but the port calculater at bottom not the minimum requirment one..... the page i linked scroll down some.. it says for 2 3" about 10" long each
