Jordan Thurston Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 I currently have 2 hds312s considering upgrading to the hdc3 what I'm wondering is will I notice a big difference between the 2 subs ? I know the hdc3s are heavier duty and can handle 1500 rms vs 1200 rms but is it worth switching to them or should I just stick with the hds312s

Jordan Thurston Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 I have an alpine mrx-m240 i guess what I'm worried about is the hds312s blowing on me and I'm sure I won't have to worry about it with the hdc3s
Ahmed Johnson Posted May 24, 2015 Report Posted May 24, 2015 THe HDS3 should be fine on that amp. Do you own all this stuff and what is causing you to think you might have a problem? Unless you are smelling coils or something you should be fine.
Jordan Thurston Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 I did smell my coils a little bit today but might be because I haven't put this much power to them yet had 2 shitty hifonics amps on them for a while maybe there just not broke in all the way yet idk but they are rated for 1200 rms do you think they will handle that no problem

Jordan Thurston Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 I tuned it by ear I don't have an o scope or a dd1 The gain is 1/4 way up no bass boost low pass filter at 80 and subsonic at 30
