all4spl
Well the 6k is in and here is what it did, remembering the scores earlier posted 150.1 was with me outside of the truck and the 150.5 was me in the truck. We had to test with me outside the truck per the rules for IASCA so while the 150.5 was nice to see it was not a legal IASCA score since I was inside the truck during the run. Here is the first run with the 6k and me outside the truck. So a 1200watt gain showed a 1 db gain with the current enclosure. Then we did with the driver door open just to see what it would do. Then just after i took the clamp off my friend said hey lets put a board over the top of the amp covering the gap where it sits for airflow, a scrap piece of wood later and this is what we got. So overall pretty pleased, with 1200watts difference gained 1.1 db after adding a small board over the amp area (which is still legal). The truck is as ready as it is going to get for SBN but more changes are planned to get a little more out of it after SBN. After all its just the start of the season and I hope to be doing a 152+ with the gear i have and some more changes in the rear. all4spl
Hard to tell we keep the truck at 2krpm during test runs and since im outside of it I cannot see the drop but using the 4k we saw drop to 13.6 from 14.4 during burps. all4spl
So on a testing day I accidentally left my sub out level on my headunit down two clicks, ran the truck to make sure its consistant with the ZV3s and discovered something. Looks like I was clipping the signal a little bit, so i tried the door open and then. The surprise is still coming for SBN though!
