Triticum Agricolam
will never use them again after one time... Y.. have a bad experience? or did u find something better?? The first time you crossthread one (which is easy to do) and it comes loose inside the box, you will be done with T-nuts. I build most of my boxes out of plywood, which holds screws really well so I just use #10 pan head square drive sheet metal screws. With MDF I like to use some kind of insert. For #10 hardware I use these: https://www.parts-express.com/10-32-barbed-body-insert-nuts-50-pcs--081-1094 For 1/4" hardware I use these: http://www.amazon.com/E-Z-Threaded-Hex-Flanged-Internal-Threads/dp/B002KT43MU/ref=pd_sim_sbs_328_1?ie=UTF8&refRID=0K0PB40RGDQ6J5806CYC "Nothing prevents people from knowing the truth more than the belief they already know it.""Making bass is easy, making music is the hard part."Builds:

Triticum Agricolam
wow.. that bad huh?? i was actually wondering how those would be compared to tee nuts.. lol.. those go in from the opposite side like tee nuts right? can they be used on the end grain of mdf?? Yeah, T-nuts are that bad. Doesn't mean you can't make them work, but just not worth the potential hassle IMHO. Both of the ones I linked can go in from the back side of the board. The 1/4" ones I linked can also be used from front, though I've never used them that way. Which inserts were you referring to for use in end grain MDF? Oh ok.. well I was planning to use tee nuts for the 4th order I'll be building to connect the port, window(just mdf, and the woofers.. now I'm considering using the inserts u use... And I was referring to the inserts u use.. I didn't know if they would work on the edge of mdf.. 2014 Ford Focus SE Sedan Factory Sony 10 Speaker Sound System 1994 Ford Bronco Dual head unit (i kno) Sony door speakers Kenwood Rear Speakers Custom Center console in the works. will house an NVX NSW10" https://m.facebook.com/WinnsCustomCarAudio/
ChevyBoy95
If you mount your woofers facing up (cone to the roof), they are not that bad. When you mount your woofers horizontally, you will have a bad time, regardless of if the are 20lbs or 70lbs. Just use #10 spax and call it a day if it is for woofers. My 2 cents would be to only use them where you have a good amount of room to work and where you dont need to hold 40 lbs up while you put them in. For holding a window or panel on, they aren't that bad, but i would go the route posted above with the links.
