bkolfo4
Man was it a FUN day. The company I work for will be teaming up with Kicker to bring Premium OEM audio systems to the Class 8 truck market, as well as dealer installed aftermarket upgrade kits. Met quite a few people there (including Polecat), got to see a lot of cool products, demo vehicles, and classic products (many of which I have owned in the past). Even got to demo the suburban a few times. Only bad part of the trip - Spent the entire night watching weather reports, as I got to be there on a night with BAD thunderstorms!!! Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz. bkolfo4
I agree, the (4) 18's were not as loud as I expected just looking at it, but that van sure looks cool. I did not ask, but the box must not be designed for all out SPL. I know the amps were putting out some serious power. With just a couple of quick bursts, you could smell the voice coils big time. . . I did get an iKick ik500 while I was there. Man they are awesome. Better than any other iPod docking station I have heard. They had a few competitor docking stations set up, and the iKick was killing all of them!!!! Fun to watch the little 6" square passive radiator on the back It also has an aux in and a preamp out (although the preamp out is fixed level, so it does not vary with the volume if you use it for an additional subwoofer). Applejack
i imagine a line of the employees bumping as they leave work, ghost riding, and singing like a musical or "bassical" rather. But you have my direct email if you need anything Yea, crazy weather we are haiving here...finally 51 today tho LOL yea, that iKick is serious...finally got me an Ipod just so i can have one...LOL.. yea, the van is cool, but not loud enough...our TECH guys designed one, a SPL box, then the R&D gyuys said "no, do this box", which is in there now. Time to put the SPL box back in, IMHO. But dwright, tell me about it, I drove it there form Oklahoma Behind every great man....is an underwear tag!
