i know it sounds steep , thats what i was thinking too. But it must be built INSIDE the trunk as the mouth opening of the trunk will only allow 11 inches max. But still, I wasnt expecting it to cost 400 and up..

regarding the tuning.. im going to have mine tuned 37-42hz myself. 95% of my music has its bassline in that range so i would want the peak to be loudest at that range as well.

Build your own enclosure. Much cheaper.

i dont have the tools to build boxes.. sealed i could do probably but ported for sure no. And i wouldnt want a novice like myself start building enclosures when ive read so much that the enclosure part of the car system is very very important. A ghetto enclosure will just ruin everything. After everything is said and done i will be spending a good 2 grand on amp, sub and electrical so i dont want to take any chances on the enclosure.. i guess i have no choice but to get the enclosure built from him , who also happens to be my local sundown dealer so he should know exactly what enclosure will suit the sub the best.

Ok. That's really up to you. I don't know the guy or the shop or anything so I can't judge his work, but just because someone is a dealer doesn't necessarily mean he knows the best enclosure design for the sub(s) he sells. I'd ask to see his design, and share it with the forum so some of the guys who have built enclosures for that sub and the ones that are just enclosure geniuses can give some feedback on it before you spend $400+ on an enclosure. Just my two cents if you can't build your own. Always good to have an outside set of eyes looking over something.
