islandpride684 Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 yeah, I would just trace and check all the wires coming from the hu/eq going to the relay and then to the amps Build Log http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/186921-blk9te-07-yukon-slo-mo-build/page-3?hl=%2Bblk9te#entry2881410
d-nice88 Posted August 10, 2015 Author Report Posted August 10, 2015 I have the hu remote and the eq remote tied together and the remote wire going back to the relay is also connected to the hu and eq. So remote on the hu is wired together with the eq and the remote going to the back. But when I connect the remote wire to the relay with the car off the eq comes on by its self. Idk why. I tried hooking up my 4 channle to the battery and it still wont come on
reedal Posted August 10, 2015 Report Posted August 10, 2015 Briefly connect the 4-channel's remote wire to the battery (unless that's what you meant in the last sentence of your last post). If it doesn't come on, check the fuses, check your ground and power connections to make sure they're tight. Use a DMM to make sure there's voltage on the power wire. If it powers on with remote wire connected to the battery, measure voltage on that wire coming from the relay with the key in the on position (HU & other electronics on, engine off). Is there voltage there? d-nice88 Posted August 11, 2015 Author Report Posted August 11, 2015 I pulled my radio out and the clarion eq's power wire was disconnected from the inline fuse. The plastic broke off so I put it back together with some electrical tape and tested to remote from the hu/eq to the relay and once again the eq comes on but not the radio. Idk wats going on. The radio and the eq's remote are tied together with the remote going to the relay. Shouldnt the radio come on also if the eq comes on when I attach the remote to the relay ?
reedal Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 What was your issue? firebirdude Posted August 19, 2015 Report Posted August 19, 2015 For future reference, buy a multimeter. Even the one that's like 3 bucks from Harbor Freight if you're broke as shit. That's good enough to tell you if there's power there or not. Then disconnect everything and start tracing power up or down stream. Troubleshoot brah.
d-nice88 Posted August 22, 2015 Author Report Posted August 22, 2015 I did bruh. It was a loose ground. Tightined then it was fixed.
