Nick4029 Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 Hey everyone Currently I have a hifonics brx 2400 pushing a zv4 12. I have it on about 1500 watts right now and I have decent voltage drop. From about 13.9v- 13.4v at 2000rpm. And when I'm driving at night I can see my lights are dimming when the bass hits. But when I turned the amp up all the way (but not clipping) my voltage dropped from about 13.5v-12.4v at 2000rpm depending on the notes in the song. My question is what should I upgrade first. Should I 1. Get a new 320amp singer alternator or 2. Get a second battery in the trunk (xs power d3100) I don't have the big 3 done yet but whenever I buy the alternator or battery that's when I will do the big 3. Also how much will the big 3 help?? I have all sky high ofc 1/0. My current alt is a 160amp so not bad for stock. But I will eventually do both the alt and the batt but I only want to do one until I get money to save up for the other. So in your guys opinions what should I do first. reedal Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 Alt > battery And if you turned your amp all the way up, I can almost guarantee you were clipping SMD Tool Map https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/193176-smd-tool-map-new-november-2014/ Build log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/197217-reeds-03-tahoe-hat-sqaq-singer-xs-shca-cockbox-80prs/?page=32

I set it with an o-scope. I meant to say all the way it could go without clipping 2011 Chrysler 200s Sundown zv4 12 rev2 2.75ft3 box tuned 32hertz Hifonics brx 2400 Sky High 1/0 ofc power and ground wire Sky High 8 gauge ofc speaker wire Focal auditor 5 1/4 front component speakers Focal integration 6x9 rear deck speakers Stock 160amp alt

Miguels Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 alternator.. get one that is 6 phase hairpin and youre solid. im my opinion. buying a high output alt that is not a hairpin is a waste of money. my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/

SnowDrifter Posted August 15, 2015 Report Posted August 15, 2015 More output at idle, less noise, greater efficiency(less heat).Simple terms: It's the latest and greatest of alternator tech ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
