ToNasty
So how does this actually work. I will be running dual alts. Oem alt for the truck itself and ho alt just for audio side. Now I know if I'm demoing I can put it up in the high 14s or whatever. But what happens when I dont need it? corona_jeff
you need a dual alt hardness or you can use 2 units
ToNasty
Im doing the same thing as you are in the tahoe. Oem for truck and oem for audio side. I will get the harness but is there like an on and off for the vcm? ToNasty
But would I back down voltage to 12.8 and just leave it? Seems like it might me less if a headache just to skip the vcm Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
corona_jeff
i would leave the stock alt along if its PCM controlled and just use the secondary for the system with a VCM
corona_jeff
if you use a dual alt harness the PCM will restrict both alts
ToNasty
That's what I want to do. But when I don't need it to charge high do I just turn it down and that's that. Is basically my question Quote ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Miguels
yes.. just set it lower and will stay there till you want to charge higher Quote my logshttp://www.stevemead...-my-new-set-up/my blow through loghttp://www.stevemead...future-updates/ 96 ss http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/164094-96-impala-ss-build/
corona_jeff
no that wont work. The PCM will over ride the VCM
