Pinky209
recently i just did some minor changes to my engine: shorty headers, cold air intake, 3.73 posi rear end, and a EFI Live custom tune. i was looking into porting and polishing my heads and adding a CAM. i was looking into an LS6 cam but i am not sure what you guys would recommend. i want a quicker response from a stop. 2004 Chevy Silverado 3-6 lowered. Broke_Audio_Addict
Engine swap. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. Aggie2016
no real need to swap out the 4.8. first off i would get rid of the shorty headers and get a set of long tubes. next cam is a great idea but i would do something quite a bit bigger than an ls6 cam. also get a converter. i have a 99 5.3 cammed out with long tubes and converter. also am currently building an 08 5.3 cammed, turboed, and converter. plus i have a 6.0 i am building into a 408 stroker for an 85 c10. ToNasty
I have an lq9 cam. I can find you a tbss/nnbs intake manifold. A converter from a i6 trailblazer. And get a set of gears ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Aggie2016
no offense but i wouldn't use an lq4 cam either. i would call a btr (brian tooly racing) and get them to custom spec a cam for your set up. that way its built to run the way you would like it to. ToNasty
There is nothing wrong with an lq9 cam. It's very mild. Doesn't require valve springs but I have the valve spring with it. ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Aggie2016
there isnt anything wrong with it but if your going to go through the effort of changing a cam might as well do one thats designed for the heads, intake, exhaust and other mods that you have. ToNasty
243 heads are cheap as well. All parts I've named are Factory chevy parts and will work together ***Super Sellers List***http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/25829-super-sellers-buyers
Aggie2016
yes they are all factory. but a lq4 cam is for a bigger displacement motor and most likely 317 heads. not saying the set up wont work because it will, but there are way better options out there.
