I've been researching walls for a while now and my question is when making the 45 degree angles how do you determine the width of them or can they be any size you want?

Only the ones inside the port are important to the box operation.

45s done inside the compression chamber can be done in different sizes but the larger ones will take more internal space, your calculations need to account for the lost airspace.
