I have question that I was hoping someone can help me with, I have 2 BC 3500's that I would like to strap. I have 2 DCXLM2 15's with .7 coils, I have one of the 3500's on the pair now and just don't seem to be getting enough power to these subs. If I strapped the 2 amps what kind of power can I expect with subs wired at 2.8? Would this be worth doing? I don't know if wiring them strapped at.7 is a good idea......lol.

You wont see much of a difference. Lets just assume a 3X box rise for this hypothetical situation.

1 BC3500 wired at .7 x 3(imp rise)= Reactive impedance 2.1 ohm----Rated for 1900w at 2 ohm and 14v.

2 BC3500 wired at 2.8 strapped(1.4 per amp) x 3(imp rise)= Reactive impedance 8.4 ohm or 4.2 ohm per amp-----Rated for 1150w at 4 ohm 14v

You have gained about 400W by doing this. To really make this worth doing, you would need to recone you subs to dual 1.4 or dual 2 ohm depending on if you want to strap at 1.4 or 2 ohm.

If your electrical is good enough it could handle that .7[/quote

My electrical isn't bad but it's not ready for that just yet still building on it.

I have a mech man 250 amp alt. A yellow top under the hood and 2 80 amp hour batts in the back, 1 run of - &+ o gauge and the big three up front. I need to beef up the electrical a bit, that why I was wondering about wiring the subs to 2.8 ohms, thought I may be able to get away with my electrical the way it is until I can get it where it needs to be, but at the same time if it's not going to make that big of a difference power wise im not going to bother. No reason to add a second amp just to add it.
