cvia Posted December 2, 2015 Author Report Posted December 2, 2015 Thanks Clean Sierra. Definitely interested in a better design.
CleanSierra Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Here's what I'd do: Entire box 52" wide instead of 52" and 58". That will make it easy to cut and easy to build. A double layer baffle that the subs will mount to. Subs firing up and port also firing up. You can either do a center port between the subs, or a port firing up on either the driver's side or passenger side. I have a design and I'll post it if you want it. If something is not to your liking or you have questions please reach out to me. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
CleanSierra Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 Here you go: Cut sheet is as follows: Front - 52X32" Back - 52X32" Bottom - 50.25X17.5" Top - 42.25X17.5" Top - 42.25X17.5" Side 1 - 30.5X17.5" Side 2 - 32.0X17.5" Port extension - 14.5X17.5" If any of this confuses you or you have questions, please reach out. The only additional thing I would do is a quick shelf brace(Google for pics if you are curious) between the subs, maybe a couple pieces of 3/4" MDF to make the brace. Tune is 32 Hz, net airspace is darn close to 13 cubes(6.5 each sub) and port area is 157.5" which is plenty. You currently have 25.12" total. Can you see the dramatic difference it makes with a PROPER amount of port area? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
cvia Posted December 3, 2015 Author Report Posted December 3, 2015 Thanks a lot. I will work on this.
CleanSierra Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 If you want it tuned lower, let me know. I can definitely make the port longer to tune you lower. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
bman8891 Posted December 3, 2015 Report Posted December 3, 2015 The difference in the old vs the new box is going to be amazing. Cant wait to see how this turns out
CleanSierra Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 This is the box that OP ended up building Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.

CleanSierra Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 He said he'll comment later. From what he told me, he's happy with it. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
MADVIBES Posted December 13, 2015 Report Posted December 13, 2015 I know the sound he is after, he liked the old sound of the copper voice coil heavy mms cones the kickers had. Big sealed boxes were popular back then, even with proper tuning on this ported box he might not be happy with the tone of these drivers.
