Thank you to everyone that is helping and commenting. Also I looked at the soundqubed subs and they look really good at a very low price.

Ive been on this forum for a month or two and have learned ALOT from the members. This is what I would do, go the subwoofer/enclosure section and type in FIRST TIME BUILD as the topic (regardless if its first or 110th build) tell them what vehical you have, space avalible for build, what your trying to get out of your subs (SQ/SPL) and the budget range. There is very knowedgeable members who can steer you in the direction u wanna go..... if u havent already do the "big three" upgrade with some sky high OFC 1/0 wire or some people use welding cable (myself) check your ALT to see how many amps its rated for and battery amp hours and that can give you an idea what is prolly safe to run with stock electrical. Just a sub woofer amp in the 500-750 watt range i would say is ok on stock electrical if u do the big three. If it was my set up in that ranger, i would get an alpine MRV-M500 amp and a sundown e-12 or e-15 or one of the sound qubed hds200 series 12. The extended cab ranger is small cab and a single 12 or 15 is gonna give u that bite ur looking for :) just my opinion others might chime in and give you other options as well.

Thank you so much for your advice I will go over there and check it out. And yeah I'm just trying to get some ideas of what I should do and I understand that there is no correct answer but some are better than others. Thank you.

In the end its YOUR truck so u decide what or how u wanna do it, the big three is a must because u need to build off a strong electrical first.

You guys do realize that a stock alt with stock wiring on it was designed and done in a way to where adding bigger write doesn't make a big jump (no gain on some cars) right?

Not saying don't do it as it can help but if really on a budget maybe consider 4g as it will be more them enough for a stock alt.

singer alt, tons of wiring, smd vm-1, 80prs, back seat delete, still in the works, aiming for a 145-147 with the ability to play 25hz up to 50hz.

It depends on what ALT he has, some cars have 80,95,110,120,150,160 factory amp alternators. Adding bigger wires helps the current flow easier. Even if the ranger had a 100 amp alt 4 or 2 gauge wire is gonna help out more than lets say 8ga factory wire IMO. U dont have to have a crazy 300 amp HO alt to do the big three upgrade.

I will warn you that the stock alts in these trucks have very weak internals and fail quickly once you add a system.

Do be prepared to replace it if it goes out. Mine went out twice in one year with just a shitty Kenwood 2 channel "600w" amp.

If money is an issue, upgrade to an explorer alternator from the ohv 4.0 , they do 135a vs stock 95a and have beefier internals. My expo alt lasted 4 years with several systems and still worked when I went to a H.O alt
