All coils in parallel at .5 OHM !!! (Don't try this at home kids)

The manual says 1 ohm minimum or the amp might get hot. It would get really hot indeed but never went into protect and never fried. It would take a good half hour to get toasty. I ran this way for a good 6 months before i changed the amp and subs. As a true bass head i wanted more. I bought a second amp to bridge them together on my mid bass in the future.

I have no idea how much it puts out at .5 ohm but it didnt sound any worse than at 1 ohm and it did play alot louder at .5

I tried the woofers in series / parallel at 2 ohm and it was loud but sounded like shit.

At .5 ohm it was really power hungry and my stock alt at the time was giving all of its 130 amps when cranked. 25 ft run of 2 AWG. A battery or two would have helped. I just tried not to let the needle on the volt meter on the dash bounce too much. LOL!!

For $150 I am not disappointed.

This is what the manual says. One of the only amps to meet the loudspeaker standard. LOL!!! I wonder what frequency they used for the power ratings?

Back in the day i had a Pyramid PB 1000 and this M-4 is light years ahead of it so i cant call the M-4 junk. Is it the best amp in the world? No. Is it the worst? Let me say there are alot of amps above it and a lot of amps below it.

Watch the video BIG D WIZ did on you tube, he put this amp on the steve meade dyno. It held up ok, a hundred or so watts under rated RMS but for $150 bucks im not disappointed. A few members have or have used the m3 m4 amp including myself, for what it is it works for me.

The video of the amp dyno he tested at half ohm, dont remeber the numbers but just search rockville amp on this forum and u will find his post and videos of it on the dyno.

There are better and worse amps out there, alot of memebers gave me advise on better quality amps when i upgrade this year. For what i need now, this amp does well. Did u say u strapped them ? How well was that set up ? Im also running 2ga royal excelence welding cable. It works just fine for what this amp could pull.

Edit : spelling

I like the part where it's says professional peak limiter circuitry which guarantees distortion free music at all levels.

They Could not possibly make up a bigger lie than that.

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

I saw the amp test and too. i think the SMD dyno does the test at 40hz. I wonder what frequency Rockville used? Does the CEA standard use a certain frequency? Maybe someone familiar with the rating can chime in?

ive heard some companies may use 80-100hz frequency to get a CEA rating....
