I think it turned out ok for my first attempt lol. Amps are Fosgate p1000x5 running 1 p3 12 at 1 ohm and a p1000x2 p3 12 at 2ohm's each.
firebirdude
Cool. Not sure why you wouldn't just want the fans running all the time though. If the fans are loud enough to bother you.... then I wouldn't want them period. lol

Mine I can't hear by I only turn them on when need be.
aew93
I wanted to make it automatic but ended up just putting it on a switch in the console. Fans are in push/pull set-up and are super quiet. Works great. Now if I could just post pics instead of links lol

I don't understand why anyone WOULD want them running when they aren't even warm or hot. All SMD products + MORE available at my store here! https://wccaraudio.com/ Subscribe to My Youtube Channel! I don't understand why anyone WOULD want them running when they aren't even warm or hot. This isn't the 1940s. No modern piece of electronics "needs to warm up" before it performs well. The cooler, the better. And if the fans run all the time, they're exchanging more heat, keeping the amplifiers cooler for a longer period of time. If your fans kick on at 40C and it normally takes the amps 15 minutes to reach that temp before cooling down, leaving the fans on all the time should mean the amps will never even reach 40C (else your fan setup wouldn't work to begin with). Folks with liquid cooled computer processors (or amplifier for that matter) don't HAVE to run their rig full blown every time they turn it on so the CPU will reach a "normal" temp. Wouldn't want to over cool something.... https://youtu.be/klG_RNMDKIU?t=1m27s
aew93
I posted this as a "Thanks for the inspiration Steve" kinda thing fellas. Compliment if you will coming from a guy who's getting back into the game a bit:) There's a lot more to this build and it has taken me a long time to get it done. My local shop, when I told him what I was planning, said today's consumer's don't go to this extent anymore. Not as common as it used to be. He said 99% of my business is upgrade factory stuff direct replacement, we haven't messed with 1/0 wire or anything to this extent in 5 years or more! I was looking at him installing my mechman for me because of a back injury however after speaking to him I waited and did it myself. I'm glad I did, it was a pain in the ass lol! My system was installed by me and there's a lot of pride in that as most of you know!!!
