the thing is the subs need a set amount of air space to perform correctly.. anything below the recommended can hurt its output. you also run the risk of having too small of a port to make them fit.. of course they will make sound and be loud but they are under performing. its never run what you want its run what works.. i would like 18 18's but they will never fit in any of my cars so why even do it? could do better with just 8 subs instead of 18.. same with you.. you might do better with 2 subs maybe 3 then if you was to run 4.. sure you can build a box and make them fit but they wont perform.. if you really want them and dont care for your equipment and how it sounds go for it.. everyone in here has said it wont be optimal and youre set on doing it anyways so dont let us stop you

i guess i have just heard some really good systems before. i got a taste of bass two years ago. got to feel and see what 10k+ watts is like. ever since its been a passion to get there myself. to me my 4 15s sound quiet. im ashamed of them.

I've seen guys on here that can pull a hairtrick on 2 12s, it's all in the system design.

ok that i can understand. yes i do want them to perform. i definitely don want to under power anything or damage my stuff. i could wall it off or build a giant box..thing is not one person has given me any sort of input as to where i start with it. how is the chevy blazer one of the most popular vehicles i see with systems yet my blazer wont work? i would wall it but do i build the box inside the truck? i mean the thousands of people building boxes for blazers don't post their measurments maybe for the reason they paid for the blueprints...im just confused here as to how i see it everyday but somehow im limited here.

you can probably make it work if you have 26 inches of height.. but dont know how high you can go.. is 37 inches to the tail gait? if it is then you cant go to 37 because you need room for the port.. it could go subs up port back with 5 inches from tail gate.. might have to go higher to get more volume

from floor to ceiling i have 30-31'' of clearance easily. the center is about 34'' but the bow ends of the roof give me an easy 31'' to work with. so i think a pillar wall can be done. i can also build a box cause i will be doing it with a person who know how to. they just told me i need to get dimensions. i know another guy with the same truck. had an audio shop build him a box behind the seats in a blazer set to specs with zero problems. im trying to do my own research here and it seems as if from what im seeing, air space is of the issue and i will under perform because of port size.

im going to measure this stuff now. but im looking to be tuned at or around 32-35hz

my current box is 38'' wide by 19'' high by 33'' deep 2'' port in the center. supposedly tuned to 30.89hz but since its prefab im gonna assume its like 40-50hz

im still waiting on anyone to actually explain how this doesn't work. how can I possibly be banging and be heard from blocks away wih my setup if its not supposed to be correct?

if it can be better then educate me please. I am not a professional. and I run 4 subs because I want 4 subs. actually I want 6 subs but $$$ is an issue with that. and no I haven't competed because in my area no one has a clue about audio anything. I am a beginner trying to learn.
