Joe X Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 If I remember right that was for a trunk car so the 15" sub would be firing up, I would avoid that option.
akuma4u Posted January 27, 2016 Author Report Posted January 27, 2016 If I remember right that was for a trunk car so the 15" sub would be firing up, I would avoid that option. yes if i do a 15 it will more than likely be firing up with the port firing back.. the other options i have is having 2 or 3 10s firing towards the cabin with port facing up. just trying to get the loudest 3000rms range in 3-4 cube max system going... my other buddy has the same car as me and he swears the subs firing forward with port up is the best placement for this car (genesis coupe) here is a video he made with 2 HCCA 10s https://youtu.be/QCUqblysQ9A
CleanSierra Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 Sub up, port side in that car. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
akuma4u Posted January 27, 2016 Author Report Posted January 27, 2016 Sub up, port side in that car. have you worked with this car before? this is one of the hardest cars to deal with from getting a h/o alternator to getting bass into the cabin and not trapped in the damn pseudo trunk/hatchback... its quite a challenge thats going to end up costing me a lot of money.
CleanSierra Posted January 27, 2016 Report Posted January 27, 2016 It's a hatch car right? Sub would fire off of the glass? I thought I was familiar with that car, maybe not. Why is it going to cost you a lot of money? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
akuma4u Posted January 27, 2016 Author Report Posted January 27, 2016 It's a hatch car right? Sub would fire off of the glass? I thought I was familiar with that car, maybe not. Why is it going to cost you a lot of money? it totally appears to be a hatch BUT its not, its actually a trunk car.. and the opening when you put the seats down, is so small, that opening when the seats are down is the BEST pathway for bass to enter the cabin. I have thought about making that hole, which is about 6 x 30 inches or so , bigger but that would most likely mess up the car structurally. So what i did was i cut 75% of the rear deck out. That Helped but still too much bass getting trapped inside the trunk.. when i consulted my friend he said the best way around it was to get 10s and aim them towards that opening when the seats are down and have the port up. Why will it be so expensive? im from canada and our dollar is so weak right now , also no one makes an h/o alt for my car, i did talk to DC but after exchange rate, shipping, duties, etc that alt from him is going to end up costing me like 1500 bucks.. then the cost of subs, amp, paying someone to build me a box ext.. it will all add up + an extra 30% on everything due to our weak ass dollar. i could also do 4 10s fi x subs sealed facing up on 3000rms...
