akuma4u Posted February 2, 2016 Report Posted February 2, 2016 I have a friend selling a zv3 15 d2 and when each coil is hooked up to a MM it reads 2.3-2.4 ohms. Both Voice coils read the same .. is this sub OK or does it more than likely have some kind of issue? thanks

Assuming you can put either in an appropriately sized box, the two 12"s will probably get louder. Theoretical in-car response Yellow: 2xSA-12v3D4 3 net@35Hz 2K@1 ohm Violet: 1xZv3-15v3D4 3 net@35Hz 2K@1 ohm Striking that the SA-12s are barely edging out the Zv3 15, the SA-12s are working in 1.5 net each though.
