Triticum Agricolam
Since you already have all the hardware, might as well give it a try. Let us know what the results are! AcIdBuRn02ZTS
I dont have a clamp meter. Was trying to find a way to get a close number without having a clamp meter which is why I asked about the chart. 03' Black Z71 Tahoe 3" Lift / 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs Eclipse AVN6620 Touchscreen Head Unit Hifonics BRX3016 - 3krms @ 1ohm 2 RE Auido SX 18s - 14.5^3ft net @ 30hz w/ 200^2in. port120hp Cummins 4bta Swap
Triticum Agricolam
I meant if you have the amp you might as well hook it up and see if you can hear a difference. AcIdBuRn02ZTS
O... lol Yeah its getting used for sure. I also scored a nice fluke clamp meter for $45 today... couldnt pass it it up that price. I'll have to clamp test it eventually. 03' Black Z71 Tahoe 3" Lift / 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs Eclipse AVN6620 Touchscreen Head Unit Hifonics BRX3016 - 3krms @ 1ohm 2 RE Auido SX 18s - 14.5^3ft net @ 30hz w/ 200^2in. port120hp Cummins 4bta Swap
AcIdBuRn02ZTS
Update... I received my dd-1 today and setup the amp according to the book. I first played track 1 (40hz 0db) and tested the deck through the amplifier. According to the DD-1, the deck produces a clean 40hz signal at full volume. Instead of tuning the amp to full deck volume, I set the deck at the highest level I listen to it and then set the amp using track 5 (40hz - 5db). Set the bass EQ to 0 as suggested and set the gain. I must say this thing SLAMS. It is definitely stronger then the 2k I had before. I gave it a full tilt test run (about a minute) and the dust caps on the drivers were warm to the touch. Anyways, my clamp meter will be here tomorrow so I'm planning on doing some power testing for giggles on music to see where it really is and I'll post the info here. More to come. 03' Black Z71 Tahoe 3" Lift / 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs Eclipse AVN6620 Touchscreen Head Unit Hifonics BRX3016 - 3krms @ 1ohm 2 RE Auido SX 18s - 14.5^3ft net @ 30hz w/ 200^2in. port120hp Cummins 4bta Swap
ALPINE408
ummm your dust caps should not be getting warm after a minute if yor are giving a clean signal unless you are over powering them still I think you did the DD-1 wrong and you are getting distortion Have you ever had your woofers blown? AcIdBuRn02ZTS
Well... I am pushing them 500 over rms. They are rated for 1k each and they are getting "1500rms" each. I did the dd-1 directly by the book. Track 5... head unit flat... set volume at my max listening volume (deck does full volume distortion free). No bass boost... everything on the amp set to 0. DD-1 showed it receiving the 40hz signal. Slowly raised the gain until the DD-1 distortion light came on solid. Backed it off slightly until the light went out. Reset the lpf and subsonic on the amp... bass boost still on 0. Left the deck alone other then mid and high level frequencies. So... is that not the right way of doing it? Everything I've read and everything I've watched does it the same way...? 03' Black Z71 Tahoe 3" Lift / 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs Eclipse AVN6620 Touchscreen Head Unit Hifonics BRX3016 - 3krms @ 1ohm 2 RE Auido SX 18s - 14.5^3ft net @ 30hz w/ 200^2in. port120hp Cummins 4bta Swap

AcIdBuRn02ZTS
Head unit was done on track 1 as the manual states. Head unit is an old school Eclipse AVN6620 double din nav system. I was skeptical and tested it through the amp and directly off the subwoofer preout. It detected the 40hz signal but no distortion at full volume. Again, I didnt set the amp at full volume as I never listen to it that high. I set the amp with the head unit volume at 73 (80 is max) Used track 5 to set the amp as the manual states it is the best all around (40hz 5db) 03' Black Z71 Tahoe 3" Lift / 315/70/R17 Goodyear Duratracs Eclipse AVN6620 Touchscreen Head Unit Hifonics BRX3016 - 3krms @ 1ohm 2 RE Auido SX 18s - 14.5^3ft net @ 30hz w/ 200^2in. port120hp Cummins 4bta Swap
