Ratski Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 My truck is a diesel so I have two batteries up front. I plan to run an aq2200 and an aq120.4. I'm curious if I would need to add in more batteries. When I go to install my equipment I will be doing my big3 as well.

boom50cal Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 two xs3400's will support 3k with a nice alt. iirc Mike Singer makes a 260 amp drop in for that truck that does like 180 @ idle. Planning a similar setup in my buddies LB7 ccsb, and that's what we are going to run, but with a D925 under one of the rear seats to act as a distrobution block. AcIdBuRn02ZTS Posted March 4, 2016 Report Posted March 4, 2016 I would fit a pair of d3100s under the hood or plan on an extra battery near the back. Make sure your cables are up to par. During cold months, starting the truck puts a huge strain on the electrical system... let alone the system. For a long time, a single D3100 under the hood of my Cummins swapped tahoe was enough. Now I've got a pair of group 31s in the rear and the d3100 under the hood with all 2/0 cables. Is your dmax running dual alternators or is it a single (duals were a factory option). I've seen some guys add a third sub and some guys not originally, he was going to do a center console box with a tantric HD 12 on the nendo 1500.1, and leave the pair of cvr 10's behind the seat on the kicker cx1200 or whatever it was, but I talked him out of it. Now, we're just going to gut the innards of the passenger side rear seat and put the sub behind it, with the box behind the rear seats, ported into the driver side b pillar. Probably about 2.2 cubes with a single 6 inch aero. We might still do a center console 12 box, idk. My buddy that does custom audio work (DC Designs) built a sick ass console for an 06 1 ton dmax the other day. Ratski Posted March 5, 2016 Author Report Posted March 5, 2016 acidburn you have a cummins in a tahoe? what year? and when i do my big three i will rewire all my electrical for my batteries. no my lbz only has a single alt. im just trying to stay away from having to put a set of batteries in the bed. boom50, i was thinking of more of a stealth box. have you seen the jl stealth box that fits underneath the factory center console? ive been keeping my eyes open for an empty enclosure but no one sells them that i have found. on that behind the rear seat box for your buddies truck what kind of mounting depth you think your gonna end up with? before you tear the seat up there is a company that makes brackets to move the seat forward three inches, they also make a box for behind the seat thats 4 cubes ported at 33hz i believe.
Ratski Posted March 5, 2016 Author Report Posted March 5, 2016 anyone ever run a 12v solar battery? been looking around at batteries and always see the solar agm batteries come up, curious if anyone has ever run one. they have high AH ratings. wish i could find the same deal i got on my deka's couple years back.
