Karkov
Anyone heard yet when the 1080TI will come out? Please post here if/when they do. Do you think Nvidia will make these cards smaller, more efficient, or anything of that nature any time soon? Heard some people in real life talking about how they werent gonna buy them yet for those reasons. Is there a reason not to buy a 1080ti once available apart from of course price/availability? 2007 Chevy Tahoe (SOLD) 12 ~ FI Audio X series 10" w/BP option 2 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @0.67 3 ~ DC Audio 5.0K @1.0 2 ~ PPI 3 way sets (not installed yet) 1 ~ RF T400-4, 1 ~ RF T600-2, 1 ~ RF T600-4 4 ~ CT Sounds 5.25" Strato comps (rear fill only) 1 ~ XS Power D4800 1 ~ XS Power D3400 8 ~ XS Power XP3000 160 stock alt, Mechman 370 Elite, 185 DC Power 320+ Sq. yurvalentine
I kind of doubt any cards coming out in the forseeable future will have any game-changing improvements, so to speak. If the past is any indication at least. EDIT: To answer, if a Ti version drops go ahead and scoop one up. I doubt you'll be sorry.
audiofanaticz
1080ti would most likely be mid November ish like always (which is usually a few weeks after amd releases something to compete with the 1080). Nvidia cards are already really efficient, 900 series dropped tdp a lot, 1000 series tdp got dropped again. As for smaller form factor cards, I see no real need since you can fit the big beasts in the smallest of cases. audiofanaticz
The Ti version may run a newer gpu (such as 980 to 980ti), more memory (but with the current cards being 8gb already who knows unless the TI is an automatic 12gb), faster memory bus, bandwidth, and clock, more cuda cores, more tflops of compute power and so on. audiofanaticz
So if rumors are right, the 1080Ti will be a bit different than the base model 1080 ( just like the 980 to 980ti). 16nm GP102 (instead of GP104, still 16nm) 3584 cuda cores (instead of 2560) 12gb gddr5x (instead of 8gb gddr5x) 384bit bus width (instead of 256bit) 480 GB/s memory bandwidth (instead of 320 GB/s) 10.0 tflops compute power (instead of 9.0 tflops) So Id say maybe a 10-15% increase in performance between the 1080 and 1080Ti. So Id say the TI should be a decently improved card with the gp102, which is also the same one on the new Titan which has similar specs but 3840 cuda cores, 24gb memory 12.0 tflops of compute power. STEvil
I'll trade 4x R9 290x's? 2 on air, 2 on water oh wait nah.. got a steal of a deal, $125cdn per card lol MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed.
