SA-18 port area ?

im gonna build a slot port box with the subs in common chamber. It needs to be about 10 cubes net i want to tune to 32-34 hz so i can get them lows. I was asking port port area because i cant find any information for the specs on sundowns website. Is 40 sq each (80 sq for both because common chamber) gonna be enough. I still have s few days till sub arrival but im trying to plan ahead.

My friend has bass box pro on his computer, im meeting up with him later this weekend. I was wanting to give him a baseline to start with so we can tweak up or down in some areas.

What's the max amount of power you are going to be running? 40 sq in per sub isn't going to be enough.

To Esgedi: Under 15 m/sec would be ideal, like you said, but it's just not possible with some higher powered systems. I like to stay under 22 m/sec or so, but you can get away with up to around 30 m/sec. It's very dependent on the layout of the port. A straight slot port with a low aspect ratio will allow a lot higher port velocity than one with a high aspect ratio and three 180 degree turns in it.

Its gonna be two SA-18 in a nerfed slot ported box being powered by a 1500 watt amp. Gonna put it on a program tomorrow and do some 3-D designs with the box build and run the parameters through a bass box pro. I know the subs will co e with T/S parameters i just wanted to get a head start and needed a base line to start off with.

That's a decent enough looking graph. Considering the peak is at 25-26hz, OP might even be able to get away hard edged slot port. It's not gonna rip CD's in half but it'll sure sound nice, which is key for SA drivers.

Esgedi i believe we are gonna build (if space allows it) a center slot port and kerf the edges. If not we have other slot port designs we can go with that will fit.
