Triticum Agricolam Posted March 14, 2016 Report Share Posted March 14, 2016 Everything on my deck is flat (it's a cheap pioneer deck though) gain on the amp is only a hair past 1/4. Lpf is right around 60hz. Bass boost is flat. I just don't understand the smell and if it's clipping a hair past 1/4 on the gain then I'll trash that thing. If the amp is clipping at 1/4 gain, that doesn't mean there is anything wrong with the amp. You can make just about any amp clip at 1/4 gain if you send it enough input voltage. The position of the gain knob doesn't indicate anything about output power.
