aBav20
Because I literally have had my setup for less than a month. I want to keep my sub for sure. I'm just trying to get the most of my sub because I know it can preform better than what it's showing.
Bayuk89
Though about the Soundqubed SQ1200 amp ?? Already running the SQ sub why not run their amp, ive had hands on the 1200,2200,3500 watt amps i would recommend them.
Bayuk89
Even though the SQ1200 does like 900 watts @ 2ohms ur sub wont notice it.... Personally if ur gonna run a single sub i would have ran a D2 and find a 1200-1500 watt @ 1ohm amp, its an easier find IMO
aBav20
Well I would definitely look into it but... I have the 4 ohm sub. I know I didn't think that through when I bought it. I really limited myself in terms of amps I can get.
aBav20
Oops I replied without seeing your post first my bad. I feel like my best bet is to get a Kicker CX1200.1D or CXA1200.1D and get a different box.
RainStryke
The Alpine MRX-M110 is what I would go with.
im_quagmire
grab yourself the soundqubed 2200.1 that way if you decide to upgrade later down the road you'll have the power you need, and still will be able to get potential out of your single sub setup. Broke_Audio_Addict
You will benefit the most from a proper enclosure That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals. RainStryke
These are the box recommendations: http://www.soundqubed.com/Box-Sizes-and-Tuning_ep_99.html I have a 12 inch HDS3. I have it in an Atrend SPL 2.5 cubic ft enclosure. The port area is 39 inches squared and a bit shorter than recommended. It is tuned to 43 hz. The site says the chart is for boxes tuned to 35~40 hz. That might be where part of my problem is stemming from. 43 hz might be too high for my particular subwoofer. This is the exact box that's sitting in my trunk: https://www.atrendusa.com/12-single-spl-vented I've had that subwoofer in that exact same box. The HDS3 series sounded way better when it was in a box tuned a lot lower. I'd recommend a box tuned in the low 30's with that sub. If you can't make your own box, i'd suggest checking this out: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Soundqubed-HDS312-Hand-Crafted-Birch-Ported-Enclosure-/281780937004?hash=item419b73e12c:g:X4IAAOSwPcVV2jZy
