sinister317 Posted April 20, 2016 Report Posted April 20, 2016 They are rated at 500 watts rms...what I wanted to know is if a keep the signal clean can they take 50 to 100 rms watts extra. I mean would they handle it lol.

I was tempted to just look at this post, and not reply as the others did... but i decided to give you a pass on this no brainer. any sub you run, over rated rms, is fine. 50-100 rms over rated will not cook your subs, chances are, depending on what amp you're running and your voltage, that number won't be exact. so you're safe. enjoy. As long as you aren't sending a clipped signal you can give most subs quite a bit more than their RMS rating for daily usage. Besides if you put them on a 600 watt amp it's unlikely they will actually get even 500 watts anyway. Wehan Posted April 23, 2016 Report Posted April 23, 2016 I ran a pair on an old MTX Thunder 81000d (1500rms) set with the DD-1 and they did just fine I also had them in a sealed box. They are really nice subs for what they cost and if I had the space I would probably have kept them and added 2 more.
