who has ran a soundqubed hdc3 15 tuned high 35hz+ and in a small box 4.0 cube and less?

my hdc315 is currently in a 4.5 cube box tuned to 34hz and while it slaps like no other it's all boom with way to much delay to listen to anything but hip hop optimally, rock just sounds disgusting thru it. I'm not sure if I'm aloud to post links from other forums but ami customs suggests for music 3.75 cubes with 16 square inch port area per cube tuned to 35-40hz when running on 2k power (I have a Sq 2200.2) for the hdc3.1 15. how different will this sound compared to my all boom box in a Dodge durango? Will keeping the tuning low around 35hz be optimal for large majority of hip hop music and will I not be choking the sub by losing .75 cubes? I'd prefer to keep or raise output and frequency range without as much peak even if it sacrifices soundquality. I'd like to hear from someone with my sub that has theirs in a smaller box like this and how it sounds to them, thank you.

also ami customs recommendations are for aluminum coil subs, I am running copper, so how should my box differ from what's recommended for the aluminum coil recommendations? A slightly lower tuning?

How's your box done? Any pics? Big boxes tend to play peaky but if for example if you are hitting your vehicle's resonant it could get much worse.

I had 2 15"s in a 6.5 cu tuned at 35. It was loud but pretty hollow sounding. Couldn't get low without hearing metal slapping noises. I had copper coils.

where those hdc3s? and how much power did you have going to them? I feel like 3.75cu for 1 15 is tiny compared to what most people suggest for these subs but I don't know if going closer to 4 cu wouldnt be big enough difference from what I have now? in a well built box if its total size is close to the recommended size, how big of a change is .25cu? even noticeable?

I hired a local guy to build it, supposed to had modeled it in software based on my sub and is built to 4.5 cu tuned to 34hz. made with 3/4 mdf and was built very solidly only bracing tho are 45s in the corner. probably will go with a pole running thru it on the next build just to strengthen it a bit more incase.

also how do I find my vehicles resonant frequency? it's a 02 dodge durango

HDC3 15"s and a crescendo 3500, I had wired to half ohm. It was deadly at and around the tuning, but say I play some decaf and it was (27andup) I would hear metal slapping noises. When it was (36andup) it was loud as shit. I played MGK the baddest (25andup) and fucked one of the subs up.
