dwright27 Posted May 4, 2008 Author Report Posted May 4, 2008 Don't take this wrong... But I still don't understand why you are gonna do this in this truck and not in the ford. I would be trying to sell the chevy off, and either put that money into the newer model truck, or paying down the ford. I would also see if you need to buy heads for that motor ( you mentioned they might have cracked ) and consider the amount of money you are going to be spending on this truck just to get it back on the road, cause no matter what you are at least into the motor for a rebuild kit and decking the heads, possibly a valve job, and cylinder honing. I am thinking you got about 2k to spend at the minimum just under the hood. never mind the money on audio gear, roll pan, wheels, paint job , and all the other stuff you got planned, all while making payments on another truck ( with rolled in payments on the chevy ) and shipping off to school for the national guard, and working at the restaurant, keeping your girlfriend happy and spending time with her, doing installs here and there for your audio business on the side, and having some time to relax, hang out with your buddies and a weekend a month at guard duty when you get done with your training... Please understand I am not trying to dig into your personal finances, and your personal business, and I am by no means "hating" on ya. Just trying to understand the rational of having so many things on your plate at one time, and the potential for alot of unexpected costs in the chevrolet just to repair the engine and getting back running... Lotta eggs in a lotta baskets.... Other than my old age financial and time management ranting - I think the wall is off to a solid start. Shouldn't you pull the rear portion of the carpet out first though? I see you have some of your supports still on the floor matts. And did you drill any bolts into the floor to help lock it into place yet? john, the silverado is gonna sit in the yard, until the wall is finished, which shouldnt be to long. after all the woofers gets ordered, ill start throwing money into the engine. i wanna get the building of it done and then start slowly ordering the woofers. i got friends who do engine work, and can get parts for me pretty, cheap and i have no rush for that hence why i bought the new truck, to hopefully stay away from any mechanical failures, and if something does go wrong im still under factory warranty and, my payments on the ford, isnt so bad that i cant make it with one paycheck, so i think im ok for now. and while im in basic, i get full time army pay all the way through AIT, and then its still only one weekend a month while im at school, not having to pay any tuition and getting paid to go to school, another $600 a month tax free . as for the ford. its gonna get 2 8's probably or some slim line woofers under the back seat with a 800 RMS mono block and 0 gauge to it, along with 2 6.5's in each door glassed in with a 4 channel running those and the rear speakers once i get to it. my brother in law does paint and body and was gonna charge me a total of $600 for ghost flames down it, but i think i just stick with regular flames, and be more cost effective, or just get him to do pinstripe and the top half one color and the bottom half white. havent decided yet. now for a small update on the silverwalldo. i decided to not to the tens and run with the 8 15's in a clam shell i know, sick. so, i dont wann put the pot in the very back, but more or less in the front of the boxes, closests to my seats, or to the rear of my seats, but i think i would have some cancellation??? 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L. With a ported clamshell ur options on port placement are pretty much in the middle/center horizontal or horizontal top and bottom on the 2 leading faces/edges.I doubt there's room to fit any usabe ports vertically on the sides. Better be making some cardboard mockups b4 you start cuttin. dwright27 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 got the pioneer in the ford and its producing sound, but everytime i turn the truck on and off, the damn thing resets. i wired the ACC with the constant cause i couldnt get it to turn on any other way. i think there is a fuse blown somewhere. tomorrow while im off, ill hopefully get the big three done in 1/0 and some wire and RCA's ran for the BTL that will be going in there temporarily im scared to put the Z1 in there though because of the alternator only being 130 amps but i dont plan on running it hard pictures of AVIC-N3 are uploading. i still got get the parking brake switch bypassed. 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
