How under rated can you go on fuseing

My amps (2 mono and 1 4ch)have a total of 315 amps of internal fuseing (as far as I know) the only fuses around that are 300 and 350

I should be good with the 300 right?

I would assume they won't be pulling max power constantly so it would be fine e right?

You fuse for what you wire is rated for. If you fuse for 350 and your wire is 4 ga, you could likely pull too much current and cause the wire to heat up to dangerous levels.

But 300a or 350a will be fine as long as it doesnt exceed the amperage capability of the wire. With music being a dynamic load, you will never be pulling 315a for long enough to pop a 300a fuse, plus fuses dont pop instantly.

What amps are you using?

That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.

What gauge are your power wires ?? I think you still need some help

1/0 sky high ofc with 16 ton hydraulic crimped ring terminals

For your power runs with 1/0 a 300 amp fuse would be ok..... (remember your fusing for your WIRE you fuse should be appropriate for the power run 8ga, 4ga, 2ga, 1/0, 2/0) if have on board fuses or external fuse on the amp make sure they are the approprite size the manufacture recommends.

Another thing to remeber too is that if 1/0 can carry upto 350 amps of current you prolly wanna fuse 250-300 because the fuse wont pop at exactly the number rated. It might take 125-150% of a fuses rating for it to pop. I personally under fuse 25-50 amps under what most people would. Never had any problems, would rather pop a $2 fuse in the event of a equipment failure than to fuse too high and risk my rig burning down.

This isnt to scare you, just sharing my opinion and my choice of how i do things.

i understand that thats why i was wanting to go with the 300 instead of 350 id rather be under than over

amps are built in fused (jad1200 and jad800)

would youy suggest useing a say a 250 amp fuse ?

edit:i was planing to fuse for the amps draw instead of the wires capacity before i decided to add another amp (was gona fuse at 200 but i added another 120 amps of draw) would there be a down side to that?

U can fuse 300 if u like. Here is how my runs are.

1/0 welding cable from front battery to second battery in truck tool box with 250 ANL fuse on each side. Off the second battery is 250 ANL and to 150 ANL external on my 1500 watt sub amp. Off second battery 2ga welding through 50 amp MAXI fuse to my audison with 15amp on board fuse.

U can fuse 250-300 if u like, either will work. If ur voltage dips down lowwww u will pop a fuse regardless (amperage goes up as voltage goes down)

Safe to say 250-300 will be just fine
