ckeeler11 Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 that sub would be better in a sealed box. if you go ported it will probably be really peaky. It will work fine in a ported box.Based on experience with sub or are you looking at parameters? i was looking at EBP of 36 which is pretty low. Based on the parameters and how the modeled frequency response looked. EBP is an indicator, but is isn't everything. Gotcha. Thanks.
Triticum Agricolam Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 Do you have a frequency diagram from the specs you suggested? Just curious. Here ya go, this is 6 cu ft at 31 Hz. Please note this is raw output, cabin gain will boost the low end in the vehicle significantly. Triticum Agricolam Posted June 22, 2016 Report Posted June 22, 2016 A .5 reduction in box volume is only going to make a slight difference in output with a box this size. I can post a graph comparing the two for you when I get in from the field. Triticum Agricolam Posted June 24, 2016 Report Posted June 24, 2016 Sorry I forgot about it, here ya go: Green line is 6 cu ft, red line is 5.5. The difference in output would be inaudible. BackAtit Posted July 6, 2016 Author Report Posted July 6, 2016 Still up in the air on design. Thinking of saving 50 bucks on the aero and just going slot ported. Any opinions on this? 36Lx24Dx18H 26.5" port length. I did it at first with an L shape but the sub wouldn't fit under the L very well. So i am here: Does this look like the proper length to tune to around 31 hz?
ckeeler11 Posted July 6, 2016 Report Posted July 6, 2016 Port length is calculated from the center-line of the port so that would be tuned lower if 26.5 would give you 31.
