jetmechanic2014 Posted July 4, 2016 Report Posted July 4, 2016 I have a 2008 Colorado .. With a 270 amp sx power engineering altinator. The voltage is set by the pcm on the vehicle . The most I'm getting out of my chafing system is 3.8 .. I'd like to be a constant 14.5. Anyone know how I can achieve this.
Bayuk89 Posted July 4, 2016 Report Posted July 4, 2016 its PCM controlled it will charge 13.8-14.5 is normal... only way ive heard of getting a constant 14.4-14.8 is from an external regulater and bypass the PCM. But the PCM wont like it and 80% of the time it will throw on a battery light or check engine light. If ur above 13.5 volts at full tilt id say ur electrical is pretty good but idk what amps ur running.
03silvergt Posted July 4, 2016 Report Posted July 4, 2016 You could use a self exciting regulator but it will give you a battery light. 2017 Chevrolet Silverado LT CC - Will be running 2-3 DC Audion M3 8s, unsure of amp, Mechman 320 amp alt. 2005 Ford F150 - Bagged on 24s, fully shaved, raised bed floor.
jetmechanic2014 Posted July 5, 2016 Author Report Posted July 5, 2016 Going to be running 5 DC 90.4s and two dc 3.5ks
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 What in the hell are you running that you need 5 90.4's to power? That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
jetmechanic2014 Posted July 5, 2016 Author Report Posted July 5, 2016 Actually it's 4 90.4s.. 4 sets of t1phoinex gold 6-1/2 components in the doors . One set in the kick panels a set of 5-1/4 on the a pillers and two 8 inch mid basses built in the center console
Broke_Audio_Addict Posted July 5, 2016 Report Posted July 5, 2016 You could cut that down to two amps and save yourself money, space, and time. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
