Charger Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Find your frequency before the comp. That's the single biggest help you can get. Little things are. Duct tape, yes it works! Sub position (Please don't fire it forward) Turn of speaker amps Turn off EQs and Bass Boost and all that shit it won't help you at all Don't play your stereo at all before you have your run, even on the way to the comp. Fast idle your car for around 15 minutes prior to rolling into the lanes, higher voltage before you burp. Keep your car and gear cool by parking in the shade, and crank your air con up. I'll add more if I think of some more, those little things hopefully might give you some edge. sully Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 Charger hit on a good point, fully charged batteries are a must. Trickle charge them for 24 hours before the comp if possible. You need every bit of power you can get. Also power reserve is required, so if you don't have enough battery on the vehicle you won't do very well. 2003 Ford F-150 Reg Cab layin body on 26's 2003 Tahoe 3/5 drop on 26's with a 408cid Supercharged engine. 2011 Camaro 2SS 2005 VW GTI Stage II ECU, CAI, 3" turbo back exhaust, FMIC, lowered 2" on some plastidipped 18's 2003 Hayabusa lowered, stretched, cams, nitrous and custom paint
tejcurrent Posted April 24, 2008 Report Posted April 24, 2008 If you can get some time on a meter before the comp things like adjusting your seats differently, closing different a/c vents, and several other things as little as those can add on 10ths of a db sometimes. And as said, any additional charging you can do will help. Try to compete before giving demos. tejcurrent XS Power T3
