Here's the scenario....

Car: Mercedes CLA 45 AMG <- rear seats can fold down, but I won't '-)

Sub amp: Zapco C2K 9.0 (4 ohm version)

Electrical: 175A alt. and 80AH AGM battery

Music: Speed metal (lots of double bass)

Space allowed: Up to 3.0^ft net

Goal: Want the kick drum to take my soul (throb)!

Here's the subs I have....

(1) Digital Designs DD9512f

(2) Sundown SA-10's

________________________________

Currently, I have the DD in there, as I already had it in a box from the previous car. It is 1.9^ft net tuned to 40 htz. Sub and port are rear firing.

Sounds great, just wondering if redoing anything new will benefit or not???????

Would I be more satisfied to rebuild the box and keep the DD in there w/ different specs. Or, do the Sundown 10's instead?.?.?

Thanks!

Are you happy with the amount of output you are currently getting? What aspect of your system would you like to improve?

Let me rephrase my OP. What's going to provide more output, most likely, the (1) DD9512 or the (2) SA-10's?

On the one hand, the 2 10's have more cone area (but 1000 watts X 2). On the other hand, the motor of the 12 is much stronger (2000 X 1). Basically, both setups will have the ability to roughly reach their peak performances. Yes, I know they may be able to take more....

I guess I'm asking, would it be worth my while to put the 2 10's in there, or just leave the 12 and tweak it? It sounds really good now, just want to know if there would be an audible difference going to 10's? I will more than likely not keep the woofers I don't use, and I don't want to spend the time to build a nice box for subs I will not use ;-) This is why I ask the experts here.

Thanks!
