JP Fabrication
How do I properly set the amp gains using the DD-1 without a deck with volume numbers to use as reference for distortion? I have an iPad as the only source going from the 30 pin to rca to an Audio Control Three.2 EQ to my amps. I have searched but found nothing that will help me out. I found Steve's Youtube vid showing how to adjust the gains with an iPad as the source but he was running through a deck where the volume numbers were used for reference. Markous
How are you going from ipad to three.2? 3.5mm to RCA? Just work your way back from the source checking rca outs along the way for distortion. Thats how i did it with my istreamer and matrix+ in my set up. JP Fabrication
30 pin to RCA So my guess would to use painters tape to cover the EQ volume knob and the face of the EQ all the way around the volume knob and make reference marks on both the knob and eq when distortion kicks in? Noel989
Put the test track in iPad Check your max limit through the rca Then out the 3.2 eq Then out the amp For the eq reference I would mark the knob and max turn point before clipping I would set it and for get it on the eq Quote Build Log - http://www.stevemead...-cruiser-el-pt/
Jhunt94
put dd-1 on rcas coming from 30 pin-> play whichever track you need, and turn volume on ipad up until you see distortion, record that volume-> plug rca's into eq, play track at recorded volume from earlier step, and set any gains on eq (note: if the knob for the eq is a remote gain knob, turn it to it's full setting while you are setting the gain)-> input rca's into amplifier, turn ipad to recorded volume, turn knob taking in account previous note, and then set amp gains Edited September 28, 2016 by Jhunt94 Quote 2007 Ford F-150 Reg.
