What am I looking for in a batteries specs?

Recommended Posts

So the build I'm starting in the next week ( have most of my gear in the mail)

It will be fi Q 18

Sae-1500d

Mb quart 800watt 4 channel

With 4 100 watt door speakers

I have a new alt in my truck but I'm sure it's like 105-110 amp

I can fit a pretty big battery under the hood, so my question is do you think I can just keep stock alt and batt under the hood and put a large batt in the back or should I just get a h/o alt and one decent batt under the hood

And what am I looking for in the specs on a batt ( cca etc.)

this is my first build, i have been waiting 4-5 years to have this done

95 chevy 2 door tahoe 5.7

Xs power d3400

Singer 275amp alternator

Big 3 - all Knukonceptz Kolossus Fleks 0ga/ knu Fuses an holders

Sundown SAE-1500d

Mbquart onyx OA800.4

Stinger 4400 series RCAs and stinger volt meter

Fi Q NEO 18, 7.5 cubes tuned 32hz

Pioneer MVH-X690BS H/U

Kicker CSS 6.5 comp sets in front doors

Battery + H/O Alt under hood upgrade + Big 3 with OFC 0 AWG Wire.

I'd get the biggest starter battery available from XS Power that would fit in your vehicle. I got the XS D2400 only because my Camry can't fit anything bigger under the hood.

My alt is a Michael Singer* 200A but I would have gone for a 350A output if I had the room under the hood. It sucks having a small car. I'm not a car mechanic either and know nothing about cars and was able to watch youtube videos to do the alternator swap myself.

But yeah, I'd recommend getting a 350A output alternator. You can fill out an application for an alt request / info from Singer Alt here:

http://singeralternators.com/

You can always add a second battery in the trunk for your next sound system upgrade.

I normally wait for a forum group buy or big sale before I buy my batteries though. You should contact sonicxs to see if they will add those giant XS Power batteries to their 11 day Christmas countdown sale.

I'd give Michael Singer some time to reply. He helped me out with all my questions during my alt installation process via e-mail.

Getting the biggest alt you can afford that fits your car would save you more money long term. You could get a way without needing to add that second battery in the trunk that might cost an extra $350+

a 350A output alt will probably only cost you around $550

250A output is probably around $430.00
