r_sherrer29 Silverado Build

Here are the woofer brackets I made for my front doors using riv-nuts to attach them with bolts to the sheet metal so that they can be removed later. Not the best by any means but my first time ever attempting something like this. I didn't have a router jig to use so I broke out the compass to make the circle for the rings and the jig saw did the rest!

And finally all mounted and wired up.

Will the door panel fit over that to hide it?

Yep! Pretty much takes the spot of the factory speaker housing that was previously there.

Beefy driver there man. 200 watts rms.... damn!

I love these things man! Can't wait to switch over to an active setup and really see them get down. I need to find better ways to deaden my doors and door panels. They vibrate like crazy with the mid bass.

More deadener and acoustic foam. I like to cover 80% of the inside with acoustic foam, helps make the door a bit more solid and reduces the back wave of the speaker. Are the rattles metal or plastic to metal?

What kind of acoustic foam are you using and do you have any pics of how you layered yours in the door to help? The rattles seem to be 95% plastic now. I am also getting rattles from the door pop up lock. That thing might bother me the most. I appreciate the input big time!

So when looking at where to put my amps, I had a few constraints. I didn't have room to really fit them and woofers under the seat and I had limited space behind the seat but I made it work. I really never seen anyone make an amp rack behind the seat in these so I gave it a shot. Most people I see would just hack the amps through the back sheet metal with drywall screws and call it a day because it wont be seen...F that.

This is what I had to work with. Not a ton of depth because the seat still has to fit.

While I was there, I had to pull up the carpet and attack the floor with deadener.

The amp rack is cut and ready to be stained and cleared.

Bolting the amps down to the finished board before throwing it in the truck

I used riv-nuts with epoxy so I could bolt right into the sheet metal leaving a really clean look

One of my many crimps on this truck, thank god for hydraulic crimpers

IMG_3996_zpskst4qixn.jpg

Also finally got a pair of these cable cutters that make cutting 1/0 a dream

IMG_4033_zpscppazver.jpg

Amp rack and acc. rack all mounted up and 99% wired. Pretty happy with how it came out. No one will ever see it but I smile at night knowing I didn't half ass it.

And then its all covered up and looks stock...unless you notice the 1/0 running to the back lol.
