Wolf4Life Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 I'm having noise/fuzz from my speakers after adding a 5ch amp. I ran power from battery pos. and neg. to avoid noise or ground loops. The issue happens with high or low inputs and even at gain min and the volume at min. So I'm wondering the issue at the stock head unit or factory amp. Its not bad as there is no engine noise or alt. wine so I can live with it but I have never had this issue before and am trying to not go to a shop or have to try a ground-loop isolator I don't want a Band-Aid unless all else fails. So just wondering is anyone else has had or seen the issue before and what the fix was if any. Not sure why but I can't share the link to a video. (youtube.com/watch?v=XOGaEgttKes)

You can still get grounding issues even with a run to the front battery. Show some pics of the install. That being said a lot of people's definition of "music" is a clipped 30 hz sine wave with some 80 IQ knuckle head grunting about committing crimes and his genitals.
3vil Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 I'm also curious how this is wired up. Your first post makes it sound like you're pulling signal after the factory amp and feeding that into the new 5 channel. Is that correct?

Its not on low as the radio wouldn't push the amp at all and could never get the clip light to blink even at max gain. So now using a LOC with gain at 1/2 on LOC and the amp is happier. As for the rats nest I was just getting it installed and am planning on moving the amp under the seat after I get it tuned and the static issue figured out. I ran off the factory amp as from what I have read its SP/DIF from the head unit to the amp. So I cut the front and rear and ran to the amp/LOC and the amp to the speaker side so I didn't have to run new wire. Will get more pictures or whatever tomorrow if needed after work. Basically all of them are garbage, what you should be using is a spdif to analog converter and a processor. Wolf4Life Posted January 23, 2017 Author Report Posted January 23, 2017 Ok, well I'm not sure and wondering if the issue it the amp it self or ground though not sure how to fix it. I unplugged the rcas from the amp it self and the static is still there and even if I turn the gain to min its still there.

I didn't know a spdif to analog existed. I have access to a dd-1 but what bugs me is even at min. its still there and without the rcas hooked to the amp. Its a 16 Hyundai Veloster and the amp is a DD D5.1000
06RTCharger Posted January 23, 2017 Report Posted January 23, 2017 What is connected to the speakers if the amp isnt hooked up? Without the amp hooked up, the speakers wouldnt make any sound at all right, becuase theres no audio signal at all going to the amp without the rcas.

Noting I'm going to move my ground and see what it does. I'm staring to wonder if the amp is just noisy or has a higher noise floor as the sub is fine and its only the mids and it doesn't rise with volume its the same no matter what and after 2-3 on volume its not noticeable at all. Also going to try another speaker once I can get one and see it the noise it there or if my factory speakers are sensitive and picking up something. Also the hiss doesn't follow the gain is doesn't matter min. or max. I can live with it but just wondering what it is. I know some pro audio does it and if its no more the a foot or two away from the speakers its normal. The amps SN is 80db which isnt bad but all other 4chs are 95db+ per specs. Its the newer DD D5.1000
