kam311
So... with the square port idea I started thinking, it opens a lot of possibilities up that I really like. I really want to split the subs up and have one behind each seat. There is a console in the middle that is a bitch, so separating the subs would be prime time. Is there any reason why a set-up like this couldn't work? Would the port be calculated different than how I have it, and would the torres calculations be theoretically correct in this case? so far... reedal
The individual sides the port "T's" into would only be three inches wide, not six, but from where the three inch ports meet to where the port exits the enclosure will be six. Common port walls would be two. neuspeedescort
i would throw a divorce plate in the middle since you are basically building a split box. also a V shape or short divorse wall in the back of the port to help the flow leave and not come together so much in the port. other than that nice design. Common port walls would be two. Lets try this, I think I am making some ground here. Ill need to crunch a few more numbers but I think this should be pretty close to what it should look like. I have other pictures with dimensions but I guess I met my uploading limit because I cannot attach them. I divorced the box, and put a triangle splitter in the port. I also did 3" where the t separates, which made them double their length. I actually like that much better, makes sense. I will adjust the numbers in torres a bit to make up for the splitter, but it should not make a huge difference as par as measurements go I hope. I will also need to account for the displacement of the divorce wall, if I have to add another half inch to the bottom I can. Let me know what y'all think! I appreciate you guys helping me with ideas. so far... neuspeedescort
by making the port smaller in square inches that generally shortens the needed length. may want to look into that. everything else you did looks good.

See, that's where things get complicated to the point where I may not be able to calculate. Do you know how to properly calculate the T port? I'd like to make a design that can work, but I don't know of any way to calculate this design accurately in Torres. so far... reedal
Well since you put a barrier in the middle separating the two sides, the enclosure becomes two separate enclosures, correct? So for Torres, input the dimensions of one side, then do your 4x3 port, and play with the length to get the tuning you want. kam311
Alright guys, I know I've said it but this time I think I really got it! I went ahead and split the box and port down the middle for two separate chambers. I came out with Net Vol: 1.02ft^3 @32.25hz The port area comes out to 11.72in^2 per foot with a port ratio of 1:1.33 for each side Thank you guys big time for the help. Ill post a log when I build it. First I need to figure out how to gain some privilege to post more pictures tho haha. so far... kam311
Here are the mock ups for those interested. I will have to get with my dad to double check all my calculations and make sure it fits and keeps full functionality, but I don't see any reasons why it wont. Pretty excited about this little box. so far...
