well, it's a 1500 watt amp. music is very dynamic, you will most often not be getting full power out of the amp anyway. it will be fine.

okay so ill just connect both parallel to 1ohm to the amp and set the gain with the dd1 at -5db right?

i also want to set my brothers system right. but i dont know the specifications for his amp. all i know its a hifonics colosus xi 3400. how can i connect that with his 2 12" jl w7s ???

You will have to figure out what the amp is rated for and what the subs are rated for.

and yes, -5db should be fine.

okay thanks bro. you been alot of help. ill try to find some info on that amp. because i cant find much besides that "it wasnt sold in the us and there where only 200 made"

Maybe he is running it this way:

(series/parallel) = 4 ohm load 
Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel

What if i set the gain to -10 db? Is that to much power for subs? And should i keep the infrasonic filter on on my amp? I have a ported box and dont know what its tuned for. My system is all on a 86 el camino
