WillistonAudioLabs
You may have seen many videos on YouTube showing speakers getting "blown up", but have you ever been curious to know how much power the speaker is getting just before it blows? Well friends, wonder no more! Big D uses his AMM-1 to measure actual wattage going to the speaker and let's find out how much power it can handle before we see the magic smoke! Don't think anyone is going to miss this cheapo 6.5" speaker, although I was impressed at the amount of power it took before releasing the magic smoke See my videos on YouTube http://www.willistonaudio.com Many tests and demos of OLD and NEW SCHOOL car audio gear! DLHgn
Damn, I was way off. I was thinking it would blow right around it's RMS frequency lol I guess 75w. Guess I would rather be happily surprised than sorely disappointed when testing some new speakers I bought.
sopeonarope89
i had said 150 but i know for a fact they last on a alpine 500w. took hours to blow them when i had these. of course it was in series and i wasnt playing a constant tone but making them slap as much as possible , the first thing to go was the side tweeters , then the box started to chafe and rip apart at the seams then the wire inside actually shorted out getting to hot. these do last but cant take the hell going past rms .
