dudeogo
So I've seen on a lot of 4th order enclosures the ported section of the box is basically just missing one side and it's almost as if the entire box itself is the port? How does that work with box size, and how do I find tuning for that? Just wondering it's been driving me crazy. Any answers are appreciated! hdorre
It isn't uncommon for people to test their sealed resonance with no loading wall on, and then tuning their port to the discovered frequency. Is this what you're referring to? Is this what you're referring to? No, but thats a good idea. I mean like this where the entire ported box is open. (Hopefully pics work) these are the same subs I'm getting for the same vehicle this box went in.. https://imgur.com/gallery/rL4D5 Stage 3 2008 Mazdaspeed 3 MIDS/HIGHS BASS 8 Unlawful Sounds Mark VIIIs 2 15s (in talks with a few companies) 8 Unlawful Sounds Super Tweeters Soundigital EVO 5000 Amps: Something Brazilian
WalledSonic
About the pic you posted, yes the owner made the cross section of his ported volume so that the port area matched it. Find out the port area required for the volume youre using, then play with you HxWxD until your HxW matches your port area Chevy Sonic Wall (4) 15's on 10k Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209412-2015-chevy-sonicwall4-15s10klithiumlarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ (4) Fi SP4 15's | (2) Ampere 5Ks | Active! | Arc KS600.2 & KS125.2mini | CDT Silk Domes | Silver Flute 8s | 240Ah JY | US Alts Jeep Wrangler JK (4) 8's in a 4th Order Build Log https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/209841-shadow-2016-jeep-wrangler-jk4th-order4-8sdc-35klarge-case-hairpin-us-alts/ IG @walledsonic
