Rizzle0608 Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 I'm looking to do a 1/4 WOOD ROOF in my car this winter I plan on getting a new headliner to put over it once it's in place. Will it benefit me to resin the wood also or would it do no good being the headliner will cover it?

I have a 3/4" birch wood roof and i would do it again. Mitchaford Posted October 2, 2017 Report Posted October 2, 2017 What kind of setup do you have? Had some pretty gnarly roof rattles/flex 3 layers of damp pro fixed it. Rizzle0608 Posted October 2, 2017 Author Report Posted October 2, 2017 I have 2 custom Fi sp4 15s in 2001 or cruiser with a sunroof I'm going to be taking sunroof out and welding sheet metal in there this winter also my roof is ripping where the sunroof is its about 1" from going into my door jam.

In that case, I would go with something thicker than 1/4" ply! Get some 3/4" birch and go from there. Here's a pic of my wood roof. Works great. You wont need resin in my opinion. Whatever you end up doing to prevent your roof from tearing further will likely be the best option.
