ehall8702
I have 4.5-5 cubes to work with, only a single 12 and about 2k rms. I currently have my sub facing backwards slot ported @36hz. Port width is 2.5" . It's in my 98 Blazer. I want to build a new box to optimize my output. Should I face the sub and port up? Sub up port back? Also, if a slot port is the best way to go, how wide should my port be? I think 2.5" isn't enough, low notes kinda chuff a bit. So , how low should I tune and how wide should I make my port ? This thing moves alot of air and I'd like to get the most spl I can out of my current setup. It's a xfl1224 ( whichever is a dual 4 ohm ) . Any help would be awesome. Eventually I will get a second sub and second db16 but for now want best I can get from what I got. Thank in advance for the help! 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears. ehall8702
Yeah i read that info before. I'm not building a cube box though, going to use the whole back of my Blazer behind the rear seats. Just was wondering if anyone had any experience with maybe a wider port or something that would give me a bit more output. I'm leaning twords sub up and port up or back. Want it to look like it's all box and one piece I guess. Kinda similar to SMDs Tahoe setup. Probably going to get a second sub and amp soon so I'll build the box for both subs with a divider in the middle so I can continue to use my single sub for now. 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears. YukonXL04
Alot of people like sub up, port back in those blazers. Had a 95 blazer 4 door. It saw everything from 2 10s, 6 12s, 4 15s.... always preferred subs and port back myself. Sub up made the roof rattle more, may have been better on the meter, but to the ear it was quieter than sub/port back. Sub and port about 6 inches from the rear tailgate usually worked best for me. 18 Sierra 6.2 Z71 : 3 F8L's, DD M2a @.67, 1.95@33 05 TL build log SOLD 04 YukonXL : jvc kw-v51bt , RE 6.5c, 4 jbl gt5 12s, Memphis pr1000.1 5.5 cu.ft. sealed

ehall8702
So specs airspace and aeroprts back, what diameter aeroport should I use? A 3" or 4" and what should I tune to? 36 hz now and it missed some of the lower notes as it is. Maybe 32 or 33hz? And thanx guys for the input, I appreciate it . 2009 Silverado 1500, 7.5" lift, 37x12.50r17s, Built Gen 4 5.3L ( 4.8l flat pistons, decked 243s, SS2 Cam, Pac 1218 springs, ported intake, 120mm TB, Long tubes, 3" duals HP tuner software tuned by me), 4l80e swapped and 4.56 gears.
