2002 Dodge Dakota, Bed Cut Through, Work in Progress

Recommended Posts

And here's the ground cable. I ran it through the back corner of the cab, and down to the frame

The ground will be covered in dielectric grease, and loom. I also might make a protective cover to put over it, just to be safe

Time to install the box...finally! It's a super tight fit, but it works. Had to put some foam pads underneath the back of the box in the bed to accomodate the weight of the box during the cab/bed flex

Well, not much progress to show. I'm still without a system, but I got a new job and haven't been driving, so no big. Did decide to go with (2) new DC Level 2 12's to start. I know they're not the mos

Finally a shot of it playing! However, ripping it out today...Moving the amps into the center console, and redoing the box. Also taking the truck in to get bagged, so I need to remove the system anywa

And this is where I am currently. I covered the box in carpet and am working on the amp rack cover. Hopefully in the next couple weeks I can get everything tested and wired up

Thanks! This weekend I'll try wiring up the dash and amps. I'm losing my garage for 3 months while earthquake retrofitting is going on, so I'm going to try and get as much done as I can.

Haven't had a lot of time to work on this project, but was able to do a little more wiring. Added the LED lights behind the amp rack.

Also created a platform for the engine bay out of 1/2" ABS to house the fuse holders for the amps, the new alternator cable and the relays.

It's going to be mounted on the drivers side, next to the main fuse box.

The Fuse holders.

And Mounted...

The weight of the fuse holders are heavier than I expected, so I need to mount it better. I'm currently using an L shaped bracket underneath for it to rest on, and another to keep it from moving side to side. But both brackets aren't really strong enough and there's a lot of movement.
